Interesting story here from the BBC Website
Unsure what bothers me the most about this story.
1) That Lambeth Palace didn’t know if these books were missing, destroyed or stolen
2) That the books could be stolen so easily in the first place
3) That our modern libraries probably have more security in place for the heavily thumbed, broken spined, 15th Edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone than we had for some of our rarest book collections.
Although we had to wait until the thief eventually died (and had a honest lawyer!!), it’s good to see that some of them are back on their rightful shelves
