Below are the current obstacles in allowing me to achieve my goals. I’d like for this to be blank – in fact, I’d like for this page to not even exist, but I’m pragmatic and know that there are sacrifices that need to be made.
******************************************************************************
#1 Television. Too many soaps, films, documentaries for me to ever watch. The ones I can’t watch, I record; the ones I can’t record, I try to see via on-demand TV.
#2 Computer games. Everquest, World of Warcraft and a few other MMORPGs have stolen more time from me than I care to mention. Warcraft has since gone the way of the Dodo for me – but Everquest is still around for me to get my fix.
#3 Football. This isn’t a physical thing, it’s more of a mental state. As a Blackburn Rovers supporter (and season ticket holder), I find myself far too depressed to write sometimes. For anyone who follows a team in any sport, they will be able to relate to the feeling you get when your team loses. With Blackburn recently getting relegated and results not going our way at the moment, the only good thing about the games is that they give me a good 1.5 hours of travelling time to catch up on missed Podcasts in the car!
#4 Procrastination. I’m terrible for it. In fact, I can’t be bothered to write anymore about it…
I find TV to be a bit of an issue. I like sports, but it doesn’t really bother me if a team I like loses. I probably played more computer games as a kid on the old Amstrad. There are a few I like to play on Steam from time to time though. I never had any time for MMORPGs with family and young kids. Procrastination is always an issue though. Too many distractions!
TV can be such a distraction. I try to keep away from it but it’s hard, especially with a wife who keeps asking why I’m not sitting with her.
I watch it with my wife. Still a distraction!
